Established as one of the ''Most Innovative Cities'' of the world, Medellin has reinvented itself when experiencing an outstanding renaissance and it has become pretty popular among travelers in recent years. But why visit Medellin? Here are the 4 reasons why you should let yourself fall in love with the City of the Eternal Spring.
Innovation
“Do you have a design in mind for your blog? Whether you prefer a trendy postcard look or you’re going for a more editorial style blog - there’s a stunning layout for everyone.”
Its well-developed infrastructures make Medellin a great city to explore. It has one of the most efficient metrocable car system, which allows people to visit many science and library parks. You can experience the giant urban escalator that gives access to the city center and its neighborhoods, such as Comuna 13.
Gastronomy

The variety of restaurants and cafes in Medellin creates an environment where the gastronomy is not just about food, but the experience it provides. The top local choice has to be bandeja paisa, a traditional dish of rice, meat, beans, plantain, and avocado, but there's more to Medellin gastronomy than the local dishes.
Neighborhoods like Laureles and El Poblado are home of some of the best international restaurants, while cafes like Revolucion and Pergamino allow taste part of the Colombian culture through its coffee.
Flower Festival

“ Every year during the first days of August, Medellín is filled with flowers and parties for one of the most traditional celebrations in Colombia: the Flower Festival.”
The Medellin Flower Festival is the city's biggest cultural event of the year: for over a week during the month of August, the city welcomes people from all over the world to celebrate the vast array of colorful flowers grown in the surrounding countryside. It's a huge part of the city's identity, and there are public events and flower displays all over Medellin in August. It all culminates in the famous silleteros parade when local flower growers march through the city displaying unique flower arrangements carried on their backs. It's one of Colombia's most unique festivals.
Break Stereotypes
It's not a secret behind doors that Medellin was once known for being one of the most dangerous cities in the world, BUT things have changed for good since the dark days of the '90s. The city of Eternal Spring has reborn into an innovative, friendly, safe and peaceful place leaving all the associations with violence and danger behind.
